Things have started getting busier but still very manageable. Here’s the recap of the week
Seedling update
Everything is going well, I have started thinking that the tomatoes may be ready to be up-potted, they are 4 inches right now.
New seeds were started
Lettuce
I tries a couple varieties in my first year at this house and I wasn’t very excited about them and, to be honest, I am not a lettuce person but I am trying again this year for early sprint while I wait for other crops to be ready to go into the garden.
Name | Provider | Notes |
---|---|---|
Les Orielles du Diable | Uprising Seeds | Chose this mostly for the name, they have an interesting shape and burgundy hue. |
Merlot | Uprising Seeds | I like red wine, so this one was an easy decision. |
Tom Thumb | Tomorrow Seeds | I bought these seeds last year but I didn’t have a chance to plant them so I am looking forward to this one. |
Tomatillo
Tomatillo is one of the easiest vegetables that I have planted, they are very resilient and prolific. In prior years the star of my garden was a purple Tomatillo that I used to make purple salsa. This year I will stick to the known green Tomatillo.
Name | Provider | Notes |
---|---|---|
Miltomate | Territorial Seeds | I am expecting that just 4 plants would be enough for a few rounds of Salsa Verde. |
Blue Fescue Ornamental Grass
This is a different take to what I usually do, but there are a few patches in the front yard that I think would look good with an ornamental grass
